We have received wonderful feedback from Care Homes sharing their Living Eggs Experiences. We’re told that many Residents who previously had little interaction with others or rarely left their rooms by choice, became fascinated by the chicks and spent much of their time wherever the chicks were. Carers have noticed that withdrawn residents have come out of their shells and mixed with others with much reminiscing about their early lives when they had chickens in the garden. On the other hand, one 90 year old Resident said that in all her years, it was the first time she’d ever seen a chick hatch and commented that it’s really something special to have a ‘first’ experience at that age.
This is an experience for all. Some Residents could take part in our wide range of activities (Games and Puzzles, Craft, Knitting and Stitching), while others can just share the awe and wonder of this unique experience. Once the chicks are in the brooder box, they can be moved around the Home so all Residents can share, regardless of mobility.
